Got some new upgrades.
Well I couldn’t get HDR going on my onboard graphics so I got a new graphics card today in PayPal Afterpay so all up only cost me so far $128.
$500 or so after 4 payments.
i got a modest card a Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 3050 6GB Ram.
it was about $269.
It is enough to play most games on medium settings at 1080p. Like 30 or 60 hz.
i don’t need more than that and it only runs up like 70 watts or something. Needing just a 300watt power supply. Which is good to be budget wise spending and also in power consumption if you don’t play much and are on low income.
the other I bought were two SSD NVMe M.2 1TB solid state drives. By crucial. They are for my NAS since it uses normal disc HDD it’s better for the discs to have cache drives to slow the data written and organise it better. The data can store in the SSD and be used again from there of frequently used or of not written to HDD.
So it’s a good way to get more life out of your HDD’s and less wear and noise.
the idea of two 1TB drives is redundancy they copy one drive onto the other in case of failures.
lets see if this works!!
I hope HDR 4k works ok!!
be home soon, at the bakery in south Melbourne.
Just wanted to add an update, that the graphics card well, not sure why but isn't too good with my projector and switching between HDR but I got it working ok in the end, I'm not sure maybe I was being hacked again.. but took a lot of attempts and I had to reinstall Windows 11.
But the SSD's are going great!! They really save energy and wear on your server NAS HDD.. hard disks.
