What naturopathic remedy is available for GERD?

From Quora post I wrote this…

I studied a year of naturopathy and have since done my own botanical studies and for anything relating to your stomach if you are getting acids coming up refluxing check your bowel very carefully first to make sure it’s all clear of any blockages. Your stomach normally won’t reflux anything unless your lower bowels are obstructed. It may be you’ve ingested something at some stage making you feel constipated. Or might have a really old hard poo hanging around in there.

ok so you are clear just watch you aren’t drinking too much or too little water. It can be very hard to digest loads of filtered water if you aren’t exercising a lot. Because water is very cold hard energy hard to use up. So often we sweat it out instead of consume it. Like break it down into hydrogen and oxygen molecules to be absorbed it’s often kept as water and flushed out.

Also raw foods are better than fatty ones or fried or very heavy meat content because meat is basically acid it will sit for days slowly bubbling acid into your clean stomach. It’s enzymes not acid which break down foods. Remember acid is an unwelcome guest from foods that aren’t healthy.

So to help acids eat some raw carrots cut up anything not fatty not fried in oil or not meaty and your acid should clear up. Water is like an acid too so flushing loads of water won’t help.

If you normally eat burgers fried chips and pizza like take out foods, you can try if you cook at home, some fresh fish cooked in butter little bit of butter with steamed rice and lightly fried greens like peas beans broccoli or spinach or Chinese greens like bok choy.. it won’t be as a big of a step to just raw salad with like a bit of vinegarette on it.

Or if that is too far to leap, a bowl of muesli with some yoghurt is good to balance your stomach enzymes which have turned acidic. Even fresh fruit or tinned fruit on top. Stay away from chocolate is the worst for acid reflux.

If you really love burgers or pizza try making your own and don’t fry it in oil, get as much salad on it beetroot lettuce grated carrot cheese onions raw or lightly fried in butter not oil, and your burger patty make it your self with some mince put in a bowl chop finely some onion add some bread or bread crumbs and an egg and some Italian herbs fresh or dried and mix it up and press out patties on a fry pan just in a little bit of butter.

Put it together with some nice not fatty or sweet rolls just plain bread rolls wholemeal is better and add some tomato sauce. It’s funny but acidic foods are good like tomato’s and vinegar they are already broken down in the fermenting process even some wine not too much!! Enjoy.

Make a pizza same way too make some dough with yeast and flour and water let it rise roll it out, even use wholemeal flour (it just uses all the wheat germ or wheat seed to make the flour not just the bleached middle bit) add your tomato paste sauce add cheese and vegetables bit of ham enjoy.

Takeaway food cut on cost by using bulk buy products and often heavily saturated fatty oils. So it’s better for your health if you need a rest for your digestion to make healthy meals at home. A really good food is bean spouts or alfalfa sprouts or shoots on your salads or burgers they neutralise acids.

Supermarkets usually have the basic health foods like fruit vegetables bread and flours butter but you know if you have a bit extra to spend and want quality visit and support your local health food shop!!
