These are good AV gadgets.

These are good gadgets if you want 5.1 audio to your 5.1 speakers or if you want old equipment like a VCR tape player to your HDMI tv or projector.

Can find them on Aliexpress or eBay or Amazon usually or like Jaycar or maybe even JB hifi these are my usual shops.

Computer shops like CPL online might have them.

For 5.1 best to use an optical audio line the Toslink or SPDIF connector this one has two inputs for it. I have one from my projector does any thing from your screen and I have a direct line from my Xbox for better DTS Digital Surround.

But it has also a coaxial composite like RCA style audio connector too.

Anyway the second box there does RCA audio (white and red) and video (yellow) from any AV equipment like a VCR and can generally go into anything with the HDMI connector side on the other side. Need a HDMI cable of course and both require powering using a small usb type power adapter I think or might have it’s own 5 volt adapter cable.

The 5.1 box I got also does Bluetooth but it’s not always the best I prefer hard line connection.

Its good with older 5.1 equipment or analogue it has the 5.1 inputs to your speakers you don’t need separate amplifier just the orange for centre and subwoofer the green for your front two satellite speakers left and right and the black for your rear two speakers. I like all wired in less radiation.

This is great if all you have got is a stereo out it will decode it into separate frequencies. It sounds much better though from DTS Digital Surround don’t use the other (Dolby Digital) or you’ll get like really bad crackling.

The DTS Digital Surround 5.1 is the right one the other I think is called Dolby Digital or something it goes bang won’t decode you need a special Dolby digital amplifier decoder not analogue.

My only concern is with these boxes that they might be bugged to transmit your footage so just ask if not sure??!? I can’t be bothered.

Even cables can be bugged so hey it’s the new age of killing predators I guess get in your army gear get your AK automatic and go Arnie style I guess.
